What is an Influencer Outreach Email Template?

Influencer outreach is essential for every business looking to reach a massive and highly influential audience. This guide will teach you how to write an influencer outreach email template, how to manage an influencer campaign, and what types of content are appropriate for brands to publish on social media.

Influencer outreach is a great approach to getting the attention of a blogger or YouTuber that you like. It requires thought, timing, and practice for it not to be disastrous.

Step #1: Identify the right influencers

In order for you to even start crafting an influencer outreach email, it is essential that you have a list of potential influencers. This could be from their social media profiles or following what they do and people associated with them like in the general internet sphere. You can also look at who has worked very closely with these creators over time (if possible).

Relevance

The key here is finding relevant influencers. Putting too much weight on personal connections could ruin follow ups later, but so could putting all your eggs in the same basket and expecting a positive result.

If you're not sure where to start with this step, it's best that you go through some of my outlined top tips for creating an initial list below: How to find social media Influencers

Steer clear of any spammy influencers – avoid people who have no social proof, are purely following for the sake of followers, or have little to none engagement with their own content.

Don't approach every single person you see online as most will turn down your email and if they respond back at all it's usually only a token acknowledgement that doesn't lead anywhere. Understand your targeting baby on Instagram is probably not going to be the same target market.

Reach

Get creative here. Look in-between the lines and identify what kind of influencer you want to approach based on their following size, engagement rate, target demographic (demographics are covered further below) etc.

The key is to start reaching out when there's at least 30k followers / 500 engagements per account with a sizable amount of regional popularity within active online media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram.

Step # 2: Sample Conversations(influencer outreach email template )

As with all of the tips in this article, I'm not going to go through step 2 absolutely verbatim as it's significantly easier/more effective to simply come up with your own subject line and designs for reaching out but feel free to take some of these ideas if you're keen.

Remember conversation is king so having a bit more style points means that potentially people will lead on conversations that are already happening.

Engagement

Be sure to keep in mind that you're aiming for quality Instagram content at least twice a week.

This can be done through influencers' own Instagram accounts but also taken via their social media management service by encouraging them to post emojis, celebrity quotes and other photo-heavy props onto their stories (this applies when trying this method of reaching out) . Just make sure not to follow anyone who has little engagement outside of YouTube videos or Facebook pages.

Step #3: Know what you want to say(influencer outreach email template)

This is one of the ingredients that's integral to engaging a follower and guiding them towards purchasing from you. Once you have taken a look at their photos and favorited/liked some select ones, think about which sort of messaging reaches your target audience!

Step #4: Craft the perfect outreach email

Now is where we really dig in and go all out to ensure that the targeted information reaches our subject line. The actual emails I send look like this:

Be sure to research your target's preferred phraseology so you can use proper dictionary-era appropriate language, have an idea of what button looks best on the header image or are you just a fan?!! lol, feel free to bust some of these types though.

Step #5: Never give up

This is one of the most daunting and humbling parts to a successful outreach but it's so important!!! Never quit, you will only come out on top!

Here are some tips that I always remember:

Again, there are many more ways to reach out and engage on Instagram but this is a solid formula that seems to have made the most impact so far.

Step #6: Find a template that works for you

It's easiest and in some cases, most effective to simply use tools like Hootsuite or Trello which allow you to schedule messages for future targeting. Set up new lists a week before the action date (by acting on each deliverable from step #1), fill them with relevant action points around your target audience and then hit save!

Templates

Template 1: The free sample template

If you don't have many good workspaces, this serves as a great place to start. There are 3 forms on one image that can be used in tandem via email address (replace @nicksprivateworkplace with yours) or copied and pasted into Trello .

Once completed, copy the work addresses from step #2 onto an Instagram template for each action point. Here's mine:

Thoughts? Does anyone like using similar templates? Not working for you?

Template 2: The expert roundup template

Like a simple answer list, this is to help you reach out with multiple strategies at once. If there's too many potential options hitting on the same message or if your strategy requires some research (which we recommend!), then simplifying can be helpful. Again, I've included an example but feel free to make it your own!

Template 3: My tricked-out template

My favorite aspect of " story-oriented" marketing is the ability to intertwine messages via personal communication. Bucket list, life coaching and mastermind business guides are all prime results of this approach which requires strategy development in every step. Having many options can help a situation go from highs to lows more quickly! I've also included side-by-sides for your reference (which quite often overlap!).

What you'll need... For each point listed here, choose "prompts" (these are the factors that will change a situation from positive to negative) based on your industry, in close-proximity with an example of how you'd respond. Use "effects" if there's something you could do other than what is outlined by management or business partners. The set should answer questions like:

How can we improve?

Template 4: The 'we featured you' template

Think of this as the "we featured you" template. As a subject matter expert (or "expert"), there's no need to explain personal achievements at every turn so consider posting in your content marketing areas! An example is included, though feel free to switch it up by including references like awards or even job titles after which you lecture to customers and fans about them.

What You'll Need: Type of followers that could segment into new prospects based on your expertise.

Ways to incorporate "summarize expert" messages into an email (or anywhere else you think about sharing it)

In a blog post for course participants, where content marketing is combined with social CRM - A LinkedIn ad that includes testimonials from past clients and others who have used your services. Down the line, use this as a medium of proof when employing other customers in coaching programs or discussing peers in "sales reviews."

When discussing their organisation on social media, consider using in-line logos of awards you've been nominated for or even up-to work photos that include your name. Providing email addresses as well...down the line? Personal examples if relevant;)

This is one template you can use more than once and yes, copy/paste it before sending to others! *

What You'll Need: Type of followers that could segment into new prospects based on your expertise.

TIP: Don't use this template yourself until you know the recipient or recipients and how they might react to it. In some cultures, texting is seen as rude . It's better off to send someone a written email if proper wording comes naturally by now. If not? Mention what they've done well in life (in any respectful way) so there are no misunderstandings

Template 5: The sneak peek template

Sample message: "I'm starstruck!  How did you score so high!"

What You'll Need: SKILLS, AMBITIONS or SHOWCASES that could segment into new prospects based on your expertise. Having the skill to delegate work means workers get a sense of accomplishment and show confidence more than ever before .

How do they do it? Talent + Motivation appears like two sides of one coin...but how can you differentiate between the two? I was once told that as a Recruiter, it is important to look at employers who truly enjoy what they're doing every day.

They want you but also themselves and their work - because all three are one in the same! On top of this, showing potential employers that they can help them become better trained (and more talented) will let them believe in your training methodology too...which means higher chance for recommendations

Template 6: The affiliate marketing template

Sample message: "I have sold to you...if only I could be of help!"

What You'll Need: TOOLS, SITES or PRODUCTS that can suggest new prospects based on your expertise.

Branding the right products -no matter how niche is serious business nowadays! One tool they used was word of mouth marketing which means social media channels really needed to enhance their sales approach and messaging dramatically!

In fact, up until earlier this year, the site was non-existent in terms of their communication from content and post! -admitting no sales had been made because they were too busy building websites that would eventually help them get more orders (and out praise for it).

Importance

People often think of accountability as competition but it is actually completely different. It was suggested that you should make a plan with other people and a goal - together, to help each other achieve them (get better results or win awards!). The partners were much more whole than just someone who held no hopes for making money online themselves...simply because their team pulled through in previous years!

Sample message: "I'm the guy that gives you a quick reminder throughout the day."

When asked to list out why he started their business, Nate reacted and said he was telling people about #SBTG (which all of them are currently involved in!) even before learning how to make money from affiliate marketing. He admitted having extremely busy days...working full-time as an illustrator and attending school as well.

Not only is it hard for him but like everyone else in the business, he can't be a complete jack of all trades.

He also stressed that scheduling time to properly work on different aspects of their site has been incredibly important for their business! Thus for people who like to structure a schedule - no matter how busy you are...taking time out at certain times each day will be your best bet! (or even better during those precious 'mini-vacations' from exhausting schedules)

There is no point in working 'offline' all the time - it is just not worthwhile.

Unfortunately, like most of us, they had a hard part. They think that finding customers was difficult so making sales initially wasn't as easy for them...although this lesson wouldn't be needed if people focus only on bringing traffic to your blog and completely avoid marketing outbound until you've got your Google Rankings ...because in business, way too often its about 'not wasting our time' even when we're at the stage where money can be made.
